I am a millennial. To be a millennial means I must be lazy, entitled, eager to dismiss long standing traditions such as brand loyalty and passive racism, not because these things are outdated concepts or blatantly wrong, but solely to upset my predecessors and diminish the hard work they put in for me to have a better life, right?
I asked my most favorite friends, family, and colleagues to describe me in a number of words and received the following responses: loud, restless, passionate, impulsive, impatient, ambitious, outgoing, and big-hearted. All of which I take as compliments!
I hope that you’ve made your way to this site because it speaks to you, relates to your view of all the bullshit, or helps you to learn something.
Whatever the reason, I’m thankful for you and hope that I can continue to make you proud.
With Love,
Mads
I can’t tell you how much your blog has spoken to me right now. Right moment, right thoughts, EVEN fellow Okies who. Anyway, I never post on social media or even comment on blogs, but I really just wanted to reach out and tell you how much your writing has found me/i’ve found it means to me right now. Speak, sister!

I’m so glad you picked me to debut your voice! Us Okies have to stick together! This is just absolutely touching Emily, thank you for your kind words. This blog has always just been a way for me to be able to write, but I don’t know that I ever really think about the fact that people read it. Thank you so much, truly.
